She was a member of the 1971 World University Games team and participated in the PanAmerican Games that same year. Terry was also a finalist in the 1968 and 1972 Olympic Trials.

She coached the Texas ladies to NCAA Outdoor National Championship team titles in 1982 and 1986. Crawford’s 1986 Texas team is the only women’s team in NCAA Division I history to win the triple crown of crosscountry, indoor and outdoor track in the same year (accurate to 2009 at time of this writing).

Terry was inducted into the Lady Vols Hall of Fame in 2002 for outstanding accomplishments in the sports of Track and Field and Cross country. Former UT coaches Chuck Rohe and Stan Huntsman both agree that Terry did more for women’s track and field/cross country in the state of Tennessee than any other person.
