UT Track: 1965-1969; Sprinter (100, 220, 440 Relay); SEC Champion–Outdoor 440 Yard Relay (1967, 1968, 1969); Outdoor 100 & 220 (1969); Named the Most Outstanding Athlete in the Southeast Conference T&F Outdoor Championships in 1969 following his victories in the 100, 220, and 440 relay; Member of NCAA 2nd Place 440 Yard Relay Team (1967); Participated in the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Trials and qualified as an alternate in the 440 Yard Relay.

Vietnam: Served a tour of duty in Vietnam with the Special Forces.
Comments Based Upon Obituary: Gary K. Wagner, 66, of Upper Macungie, died Thursday, December 20, 2012. After returning from the Army with a degree in accounting from UT, Gary joined the staff of Phoebe Floral as a bookkeeper. He thrived in the presence of the customers and employees and eventually purchased the company in 1980. Under his leadership, Phoebe Floral became one of the “Top 50” Teleflora and FTD florists in the country. A generous man with his time and talents, he was active in many professional organizations, volunteered his resources to multiple charitable organizations and fundraisers, and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Allentown. He loved the game of tennis, traveling, particularly to be near the ocean, and spent countless hours training his Goldendoodle dog. Together they became a volunteer team for Therapy Dogs International. He was most happy when spending time with and helping his family and friends. He never looked at the challenge; he merely went about each and every task with energy, enthusiasm and the enormous love in his heart.
